NEC Continuing Education 4 hrs This class is the 4hr version of the above class. It covers 2017 NEC , and some of the code sections that have been part of the NEC for years but are involved in inspection rejections. There are code changes which affect any type of electrical installation in the 2017 NEC. This class spends more time on the code changes than NEC Installation Basics .All sections of the 2017 NEC are currently in effect. NEC Installation Basics In this continuing education class, I will be going over Chapters 1-4 and Article 680 of the 2017 NEC. The intent of this class is to give students a refresher on the requirements for everyday installations that sometimes get overlooked in continuing education classes that focus on code changes and specific topics. When the student passed his license examination, he obviously knew these sections. Over time many have now taken these requirements for granted, sometimes thinking these sections have changed or using only specific parts of a code section. Article 680 is included because is misunderstood and modifies basic requirements of chapters 1-4. This is a 8 hr class.
NEC Requirements and SP Licenses In this continuing education class, I will be going over Chapters 1-4 and Articles 760, 800, 820,830 and 840 of the 2017 NEC. The intent of this class is to give students the basics of the NEC that relate to their specific SP license. I also want to reinforce the limitations of their specific license according to NCBEEC rules. This is a 4hr class
City Card Prep Class This class will go over basics of using the NEC, how to recognize differences in code language, handouts on important code facts to be familiar with finding, and some basic calculations that are likely to be found on city card exams. The goal of this class is to get the students thinking about how to find answers they will need for the city card exams and that answers to the questions are not necessarily what they do in the field.
Common Rejections and the NEC This class deals with the rejections that inspectors see on a regular basis. Like the Installation Basics class it will cover things that have been in the code for a while but are overlooked of misunderstood.
